Character creation ticket channels will periodically appear under the Info Desk category and invisibly ping the @Welcome Squad and @Scrivener roles. These tickets require DM attention to resolve.
Players are instructed to provide the following:
- [ ] A character sheet, created using D&D Beyond, Dicecloud, or GSheet
- [ ] A screenshot of their point-buy
- [ ] A brief summary of their backstory
Ticket Validation
A character creation ticket requires the following to be resolved:
- [ ] A stamp from two separate @Welcome Squad DMs
- Any DM may run
/claim to claim the ticket, though this is optional.
- Once you’ve claimed a ticket, check the sheet using the below checklist, and ping the player if anything is missing or wrong.
- After everything looks good, add your stamp emote and ping @Welcome Squad. A second DM will claim the ticket and repeat the process, adding their own stamp.
- If the backstory has not been approved by this point, the second DM should also ping @Scrivener.
- [ ] A stamp from a @Scrivener
- The appropriate Scrivener should provide their stamp emote once they’ve checked to make sure the backstory does not break any existing lore.
- If the backstory is not approved, the Scrivener should work with the player to fix it.
Ticket Approval
- Once all three stamps have been given, the DM who gave the last stamp should run
?approve <@username> <Sheet URL> <Character Name, can include spaces> in the ticket channel.
- Ask the player if they require any more help, such as with setting up their character in Avrae.
- Once they’re good, you can close the ticket. Click on the button at the top of the ticket channel, or run
/close Character approved - <Character Name> - <Level>.
