Take a look at the !boopsum alias as part of new DM onboarding. This alias automatically calculates the range of XP and gold to award your players after a quest.
Syntax:
!boopsum <Party XP Total> <Player 1 Level> <Player 2 Level> ...
To run Boopsum, you will need to calculate the Total Party XP, which is simply a sum of all the XP your monsters were worth. Since it’s a total, don’t divide by number of players!

Note: In 2024 edition, there is no Adjusted XP! Your total XP for combat should always just be the sum of monster values you used.

When running a quest, you may also award XP for non-combat encounters such as exploration challenges or important and involved RP scenes. There is no hard rule on how much XP to award, so use your best judgment. Generally, the “Low” Difficulty (2024 DMG) is a good upper-bound value for 1 non-combat encounter, but you can give more if you feel the stakes are higher. Remember, death is not the only kind of consequence.
Finally, if you want to reward players for a great quest (such as for top-notch attentiveness or RP), you can award some bonus XP at your discretion.
