Boopsum is the entire basis of Raven’s Mark economy. For this reason, it is extremely important that you follow the rules outlined in 🪙Calculating Player Rewards and obey the bounds set by the !boopsum alias. Failure to do so will lead to rampant gold inflation and character power spirals!
This page will give you an overview of how exactly Boopsum works.
Boopsum is a function that converts XP values into GP values. Consider it like, y=mx+b.
What this means is that there is an expected sum of gold that a player character will earn at any given point in their career. For example, if we assume the Boopsum formula is GP = 0.5xp:
Loot is more nebulous than gold because Boopsum cannot standardize item values like it can with gold payouts, nor can it control what players end up with what items. However, the loot budget follows the exact same guidelines as gold - it is the total of all the gold payouts. This means that roughly speaking, players are also expected to have a similar value of loot at any given point.

Obviously, Boopsum is a lot more complicated than this. The function is piecewise and takes much more into account than a linear function. However, you don’t need to grasp all the math in order to understand this page. If you are truly curious, you can see it for yourself in the Avrae dashboard.

Correct. This, too, is a function. The Standard quest payout is 1.5x the Short quest payout, and the Maximum quest payout is 2x the Short quest payout.
What this means is that rather than an expected value, Boopsum produces an expected range. That is to say, at any given point, a player character will have earned somewhere between X and Y amount of gold (and loot).
The output of Boopsum is as follows:

!boopsum [XP needed to level] [level]. This is the formula that outputs exactly how much a character will earn at each level. In common terms, you can consider it as though a fresh level X character went on a quest that granted them exactly the amount of XP they needed to level up.
